Janet Maurer

Beloved wife, mom, grandmother, sister, friend, and Christian, Janet Maurer, left this world after suffering a stroke on Sunday, Jan 30, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 31, 1952 to Lloyd and Helen Svedersky, Jan was the oldest of six children. She grew up along the coast of Massachusetts with her family before they moved to Ohio her senior year where she met her soulmate. She was a devoted wife and dedicated partner in ministry with her husband. They served for 34 years in South Carolina before recently returning to Ohio. She had many talents and her hobbies included reading, cooking, DIYing, painting, decorating, cracking jokes and being the best “Granny Janny” to her grands. She was known for her sweet smile, joyful laughs and kind-hearted ways. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James V. Maurer, Sr. and their three loving children, Jim; Rochelle (Willis Martin), and Brynne; and grandkids Anthony, Andrew, Mitchell and Kate. Funeral arrangements are Thursday, February 3 at 1:00 PM at Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle on 3120 Lincoln Way E, Massillon, Ohio with visitation starting at 12:00 PM.
