Janet Venables, age 69 of Massillon, died Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Arbors of Canton. She was born on February 9, 1937 in Canton and was the daughter of the late Ivan & Waneta (Shindledecker) Frease. She was a lifelong area resident. Janet was a graduate of the former Navarre High School. She had been employed at the former Massillon State Hospital where she was a therapeutic program worker. She was a member of First Christian Church, the Massillon Tiger Booster Club, the Loyal Order of Moose #481 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #190. Janet was also involved with the Victim’s of Crime Assistance Program. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Venables in 1993, her parents, Ivan & Waneta Frease Yoho and her stepfather Vernon Yoho. She is survived by her sons, Russell V. (Susan) Venables and H. Scott Venables both of Massillon and Brian L. (Amy) Venables of Ovieda, FL, 6 grandchildren, her sisters, Patricia Yoho of Perry Twp. and Pam (Rick) Dunn of Massillon and her brothers, Jerry (Marge) Frease of Massillon and Ivan Frease of Navarre, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Sixteen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour before the service. Memorial may be made in her name to the Washington High School Academic Boosters.
