Janet J. Walker

Janet J. Peaches Walker, age 72 of Massillon, passed away January 7, 2009 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center after a brief illness. She was born on June 7, 1936 in Brickeys, Arkansas the daughter of the late Willie Richardson and Girtha Lee Pierce – Jenkins. Janet attended Massillon City Schools and graduated from Washington High School class of 1955. Janet married her husband Anthony (Tony) Walker in 1968 to whom she leaves to cherish her loving memories. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her Aunt Baby ‘Elizabeth Pierce-Long’ and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins of the Pierce family. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Anthony Walker; her daughter Denise (Michael) Bomar-James; her sons, Anthony, Dennis and Timothy Bomar; her special daughter, Felicia (Abe) Brinson-Smith; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers, Harrison ‘Sonny’ Phillips, Bo Jenkins and Eldridge Richardson; her sisters, Phyllis Tucker, Charlotte Westbrook, Vivian Bess and Doris Allen. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Zion Temple – 50 Pearl Ave. S.E. in Massillon. Friends may call at Zion Temple from Noon – 1 P.M. prior to the service. Reverend Ken Herndon (her cousin) and Pastor George Lancaster will be officiating. Burial will follow at Massillon Cemetery.
