Jane E. Nolt, age 92, of Navarre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at her home. She was born in Massillon, Ohio on June 5, 1930, to late John E and Ruth (Mobley) Ware. Jane was a lifelong resident of Massillon, proudly graduating from Washington High School with the class of 1948, and earned a Masters of Education from Kent State University. She worked in the Massillon City schools as an elementary teacher for nearly 30 years. She was very devoted to her community, especially with the Massillon Woman’s Club, where she held the title as former president and the Heritage Foundation. Her love for art made her an asset as a volunteer at the Massillon Museum. Jane’s knowledge about education and art extended beyond the classroom and her community. She was an international traveler, with her husband and family, visiting many beautiful countries such as Greece, Russia, China, Poland, Brazil and much of the United States as well. Jane touched the lives of many students over the years, experienced places and made memories most could only dream of. When she did find some time for herself, Jane enjoyed playing Bridge, bird watching, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert J. Nolt, sisters, Jean Vette, Marilyn Wincek and brother, Robert Ware. Jane is survived by children, Susan (Gawaine) Banks, John (Annette Mendola) Nolt, James (Jenny) Nolt; siblings John (Ruth Anne) Ware, Lois (Charles) Hauser, and Ruth Reichenbach; Grandchildren, Lisa (Desiree Osborne) Garrison, Brian Garrison, Jason (Jenna) John, Jenna (Jason) Nolt, Ben (Natalie) Nolt, Evora (Hasan) Kreis, Juliet Nolt and Bruce (Collette ) Li; great-grandchildren, Simon Nolt, Elowyn Nolt, Madalyn Houghton, Eli Houghton, Kyle Houghton, Maggie Garrison, Zane Garrison, and Cicely Garrison; as well as a host of other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Brookfield Cemetery where Jane will be laid to rest beside her husband, Herbert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane’s memory to the Massillon Woman’s Club, 210 4th St. NE, Massillon, Ohio 44646.
