James W. Shilling

James W. Shilling, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 2,, 2018. He was born in Massillon on May 18, 1939 to the late Clair and Irma (Fowler) Shilling. Jim was a retired truck driver for Lindsay Concrete and also owned and operated JS Fire Arms of Massillon. He also spent time as an auctioneer. He loved to fish with his family and was also an avid wood cutter. He had a great sense of humor. Jim was liked by many people and was always the life of the party. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Riley) Shilling whom he married on December 12, 1958; their sons, Don Shilling of Sherrodsville and Jimmy Shilling of Massillon; three grandchildren, Brittany (Randy) Moore, Wesley Shilling and Warren Shilling; a great-grandson, Lane Moore; a sister, Delores (Gary) Ullom; and two brothers, Duane (Marta) Shilling and Russ (Sandy) Shilling. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Don Shilling. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Pastor Scott Praxl, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
