James R. Smith

James R. Smith, 83, passed away on September 2, 2020. He was born on September 1, 1937 to the late Felty and Lilly (Netzer) Smith. James retired from Republic Steel Union Drawn Division in 1999 and worked 10 more years at Fishers in Massillon. He was also a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. James was preceded in death by his son, Darryl James Smith and step-son Larry Wiesen, wife Sally Smith and Ellen Joyce Smith, brothers Paul and David Smith and sister Francis Pittman. James is survived by his daughter Tammy Smith, step-children Tim Pizzino, Carrie Wiesen, Bonnie (John) Rice, Bill (Jan) Wiesen and Debbie (Martin) Galvin; grandson Nathan Smith and step-grandchildren Patrick and Kyle Pizzino, Laurie Adrian, Tracy Guerriero, Jesse Keene, Sarah Collins and Kasey Wiesen. A private Entombment will be held in North Lawn Memorial Gardens.
