James R. Hatfield

James R. Hatfield, age 74 of North Lawrence, died on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on March 26, 1934 in Canton, Ohio and was the son of the late James C. and Mildred F. (Johnson) Hatfield. He lived in Brevard County, Florida for 15 years where he was a private investigator for the Public Defender’s Office. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a patrolman for the State Highway Patrol, retiring in 1985 before going to Florida. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Hatfield. He is survived by his children, Cathy Reichenbach of Canal Fulton, Steve (Joy) Hatfield of North Canton, Vicki (Jody) Nodo of North Lawrence and Beth (Charlie) Bennethum of Dalton, his grandchildren, Danny Reichenbach, Tiffani, Corey and David Bennethum, Kellie Nodo and Lauren and Meghan Hatfield. Also surviving are his sisters, Mabel DeStephen Canal Fulton and Joanne (Dan) Reigler of North Canton. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A service to celebrate the life of James R.
