James Lee Krichbaum

July 25, 1936 — September 2, 2022

James L. Krichbaum, 86, of Massillon, passed away on September 2, 2022. He was born on July 25, 1936, in Massillon, to the late Atlee and Laura (Putman) Krichbaum.

Jim was a proud 1954 graduate of Washington High School and a dedicated fan as a 50-year season ticket holder.

Upon graduation, Jim enlisted in the military and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He retired from Schaub Electric after 41 years of service and IBEW Local 540. He was also a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

Two of Jim’s favorite hobbies were playing Euchre and eating. When asked what he liked to do, he always answered with “I like to eat” and that included ice cream too!

Jim was a devoted family man and really enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren in his retirement years. He was a loving dad and very proud grandpa and great grandpa.

He will be deeply missed by his sons, Mitchell (Angela) Krichbaum and Brian (Julie) Krichbaum; grandchildren Aaron (Macy), Sam, Ben, Keith (Angie Nudo), and Kaylee; great-granddaughters Reese and Aubree; sister Donna Cutcher; sister-in-law Karen (James) Hamilton; and his loyal, furry companion Jake.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Gloria (Eckroad) Krichbaum and lifelong friends, Richard McClintock and Doyle Clarke.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 6th from 6-8pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11 am with calling hours beginning at 10am.

Burial will take place at East Union Lawn Cemetery where military rites will be performed.

Jim’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff on the 8th floor at Cleveland Clinic-Mercy Hospital for their care and compassion
