James "Jim" H. Gallagher

James “Jim” H. Gallagher, 72, of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Jim was born on January 10, 1949 in Massillon, OH, the son of the late Herbert and Joann (Schuller) Gallagher. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1967 graduate of Washington High School. Jim was United States Air Force veteran and served our country during the Vietnam War. He retired from Republic Steel after 40 years of service. Jim was an avid sports fan and held Massillon Tigers season tickets since he was 10 years old. He also enjoyed watching the Browns, Indians, and Cavs. Jim was a member of First Baptist Church – Massillon. He is survived by his wife, Gina (Scott) Gallagher whom he married on May 14, 1983; his sisters, Karen Howard, and Donna Lawrence; nieces, Joleen Maier, Kemberli Lawrence, Nicole (Steve) Heinberger, and Natalie (Nathaniel) Irvin; great nieces and nephews, Zane Maier, Lance & Kayla Heinberger, and Garrett & Ellie Irvin. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. before the service.
