James 'Jim' A. Venet

James (Jim) A. Venet, age 58, of Massillon passed away August 14, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born August 9, 1951 in Akron to Peter & Rosalie (Serio) Venet and spent most of his life in Stark County. He was a graduate of Glenwood High School and Kent State University. Jim’s passion was devoting his time towards helping others and bringing a smile to everyone. He was an assistant manager of the Massillon K-Mart for over thirty years. His family will remember him for the photographs he took and the enthusiasm he added to their world. Jim is survived by his loving family: parents, Rosalie & Pete Venet, with whom he made his home; a dedicated brother and his wife, Ted & Gloria Venet of Canton; nieces and nephews, Mike & Jen Venet, Jennifer & Tim Sieber, Deborah & Jonathon Koral and Suzy & Bruce Pietz; a great niece and two great nephews, Laura, Nathan & Timmy. The family wishes to acknowledge four special friends in Jim’s life: Rachel Porter, Ruthie Shroyer, Dave Newstetter, and John Scribner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 18th at St. Michael Catholic Church; Fr. Matthew J. Albright will officiate. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
