James J. Campisi age 70 of Canton went home to be with the Lord Wednesday October 11, 2006, while in the presence of his loving family. He was born February 16, 1936 in Bridgeport, OH to the late Angelo & Elizabeth (Angelo) Campisi. He was raised in Dennison, OH then moved to Massillon to attend Central Catholic High School after being recruited for his outstanding football ability. After high school he served in the Marines and received an honorable discharge. In Massillon he had been employed by Elum Music and was owner of the former City Bar. Jim then moved to Las Vegas and was a supervisor at the Rio Casino. He was an ardent fan of Notre Dame and enjoyed many sports including golf, fishing, poker and horse racing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters; Mary Elum-Georgiana & Frances Jackson; and brothers; Tony, Paul & Gasper Campisi. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Mary Ann (Paisley) Campisi. He will be missed by his five children and their wives: Michael of Ft. Lauderdale, Vincent, Jim (Kimberly), Gina, Dino (Angie). He cherished the time spent playing with his grandchildren: Vince, Christian, Katelyn, Mia and ‘Little Dino’ and of course his little dog ‘Brutie’. In addition there are sisters Katie Donohue of Dennison, Janie Madison of Columbus, family friends Debra Henley and Frank Calabrese. A Memorial Service will be 1 PM Saturday at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon, the Rev. Clifford Price of Rivertree Christian Church will officiate.
