James F. Woolley, age 75 of North Lawrence, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born October 17, 1936 in Dalton to the late E. Ray & Blanche (Culler) Woolley and was raised in the North Lawrence area. He was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School, where he played football under the late coach Chuck Mather. He then attended Kiski Preparatory School and Cornell University. Jim joined his father in the family business, R. W. Screw Products, Inc., and soon became the CEO of the company. With his leadership R.W. Screw flourished to attain national recognition as a manufacturer of precision screw machine parts. From 1974 through 2006, Jim served as a director of the First National Bank of Orrville. His personal pleasures included gardening, fishing and golf. A gentleman with graciousness and humble demeanor will be missed by all. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Harriett Ann Woolley. Jim is survived by three daughters, Diane Woolley-Ditsler, Karen (Michael) Hammontree and Marianne (Giles Gilbertson) Woolley; sister, Glenna Hahn; seven grandchildren, Madison, Andrew, Ethan, James, Zane, Sara and Henry; and two step-grandchildren, Hattie and Honor. A funeral service will be 11 AM Tuesday at the Chapel of the Cross in North Lawrence, his pastor Rev. Ignatius David will officiate. Burial will be at Newman Creek Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Memorials may be given to the North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department.
