James E. Donahue, age 75, of Massillon passed away April 28, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1931 in Massillon to the late James E. & Alice (Preece) Donahue. Jim was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. He entered the US Navy in 1951, was stationed in San Diego as an F4U Corsair mechanic and received an Honorable Discharge in 1955. Mr. Donahue began a career with National Cash Register that spanned 38 years, and retired in 1993. Jim’s love of flying and air craft continued from the navy. He attended many air shows, especially those with the ‘Blue Angels’. He had a passion for animals and cared for them all. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Halco) Donahue of the residence, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage on September 15th. There are three children: Laurie (Jeff) Houston of Canton, James Patrick Donahue of North Canton and Patricia Sue Donahue of Massillon. He leaves two granddaughters: Erin Ann and Meghan Lin Houston. He will be deeply missed by all. Funeral service will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Massillon, his pastor Rev. John Telloni will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
