James E. Bradfield

James “Jim” Edward Bradfield, 85, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2021. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on December 16, 1935 to Viola Evelyn Carmichael and James William Bradfield. He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls Senior High School, Class of 1953. He married to Marilyn (Bissell) on September 02, 1972 and they shared over 48 years together. James served in the United States Army in West Germany from 1956 – 1961 where he honorably served a mechanic. Jim also served the people of Summit County as Deputy Sheriff prior to 1973. Jim retired after 22 years working at Republic Steel in Massillon, Ohio. Jim was passionate about his family and children. He was a long time Massillon Tiger season ticket holder, who was able to see his children graduate from Washington High School In addition to his wife Marilyn, he is survived his children: Troy Michael, and Jamie Michelle ; his grand daughter Kalie Nicole Stranger. He was preceded in death, by his late father James, his mother Louise, and sister June, as well as his furry companion Rascal. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11a.m. Reverend Stephen Akange will be officiating. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 6-8p.m. with military services rendered at 6:30 p.m. by the U.S. Army and American Legion Post # 221, for Jim’s honorable and faithful service to his county.
