James C. Nemeth, age 89, of Massillon passed away Friday evening, October 26, 2007 at his residence with his family by his side. Jim was born April 3, 1918 in Massillon to the late John and Helen (Furedi) Nemeth. He was a 1937 graduate of Washington High School. He entered the U.S. Armed Forces in January 1942 and served with the 193rd Tank Battalion. Jim was awarded two Bronze Stars for action on Okinawa and Tara. He was honorably discharged in October 1945. He was employed and retired from LTV. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #221. Throughout his life, he was an avid golfer and bowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers; Steven, John, Joseph, Lester, and Charles. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pauline (Anslover) Nemeth of the residence and two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Nemeth and Nancy and Ted Budner. He delighted in his three grandchildren; Andrew, Abigail, and Nikki. A service for the family will be Tuesday, October 30th at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
