James Andrew Kohler, 72 of Jackson Township, passed away Tuesday at his residence surrounded by his family. Jim was born on February 28, 1943 in Toledo, the son of Harley and Mary (Wentz) Kohler. He grew up in the Findlay and Rawson area in Ohio. Jim was a 1961 graduate of Findlay High School. Upon graduation Jim entered the Marine Corps, serving our country during Vietnam. He retired from Ashland / Marathon Oil in 2004 after 40 years of service. Jim was the property manager at the Paul & Carol David YMCA in Jackson Township. He was past president of both the Willowdale County Club and Pines Boat Club. Jim was also a member of Little Flower Catholic Church. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Sheila "Sunny" Snook. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Marie Louise (Cunnane) Kohler whom he shared 50 years of marriage; his sons, Anthony (Kelli) Kohler and Brian Kohler; his fraternal twins, Heather (James) Whipkey and Heath John Kohler; his sister, Sharon (Ronald) Cramer; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great – granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church: 2040 Diamond Street, N.E., Canton, OH 44721. Burial will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Rd. N.E., Massillon, OH 44646 on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. at the church.
