James A. Poth

James A. Poth, age 78 of Massillon, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1931 in Massillon and was the son of the late Henry and Irene (Hollinger) Poth. He was a life long area resident. Jim was a 1949 graduate of Washington High School. He retired from A.C. Eynon in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 554, the Plumbers Local 94 and the AMVETS Post 6. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Madeline. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. (Homze) Poth, whom he married on June 11, 1955, his children and their spouses, Jeff (Marie) Poth of Drums, PA, Pam (Bill) Boyd of Massillon and Jamie (Mark) Crowe of Massillon. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Danny Boyd, D. Boyd, Rachelle (Andrew) Kujawa and Mandi Poth, his great grandson, Tyler Kujawa and his sisters, Catherine Ferguson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Sally (Jim) Smith of Massillon. Arrangements are pending at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Aultman Hospice or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
