James A Nickol Sr.

James A. Nickol, Sr., 80 of Massillon, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born on September 18, 1931 in Gallitzen, PA and was the son of the late Andrew and Suzan (Schoenfeld) Nickol. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict and worked at the Union Drawn Division of Republic Steel. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and avid NASCAR/Tony Stewart fan. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Shawn Michael Haring and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Linda D. (Street) Nickol whom he married on July 27, 1958, his son, James A. (Theresa) Nickol, Jr., daughter, Jennifer (Rob) Haring and son, John Nickol., his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Donald (Larissa) Haring, III and children, Izabella, Samantha, Donavin & Elizabeth, Nicole (Rob) Dixon and children, Taylor, Blake, Alexis & Lucas, Ashlie (Josh) Haring and child, Bailee, Danielle Haring and children, Dominik & Rylee, Brittanie Haring serving in the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes, IL, Christian Haring and Austin Haring, James (Amber) Nickol III, Joshua (Julianne) Nickol, Jonica Nickol and children Jaylynn & Jeremy, Jerica Nickol, Jenesa (Ryan) Nickol and child Jayden, Jenna Nickol and Jonna Nickol, Amber (Jeff) Lantzer and children Arionna & Aidan and Hailey (Chase) O'Quinn and child Bryson. Also surviving are sisters, Pearl (Howard) Fisher and Edie (Gene) Gargon, former son in law Donald Haring, Jr., former daughter in law Cherie Lambert and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Friday at 6:00 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Minister Rhonda Gallagher officiating. Cremation will follow.
