Jacquelyn A. Mastnick age 86 of Massillon passed away March 28, 2007 at Amherst Meadows. Jackie was born March 25, 1921 in Massillon to the late George & Jennie (Madaffer) Reichel and was a 1939 graduate of Mt. Marie High School. She served our country as a marine staff sergeant from 1943 thru 1945. In October 6, 1945 she married Edward Mastnick with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Jacquelyn was a seamstress and dressmaker. She is a cantor with St. Barbara’s Choir and member of the Church Ladies Guild. Jackie performed in all the St. Barbara Minstrels and made the costumes. Jackie was a founding member of the Cardinal Chapter of the Sweet Adelines and was active with them for 38 years. In addition, she belongs to the McKinley Detachment of the Marine Corp League. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Reichel in 1996. She is survived by her husband, Edward Mastnick of the residence. Children & spouses: Joseph Mastnick of Massillon, Holly Hennessey of Placerville, CA, John (Jill) Mastnick of Cuyahoga Falls, Steven (Mary) Mastnick of Massillon, Jennifer Mastnick of Hartville and Damian (Sherry) Mastnick of Columbus. Two sisters and a brother: Corrine (Quentin) Gerber of Massillon, Dolores (Arthur) Schauffler of Orange, CA and Lawrence (Hazelee) Reichel of Massillon. Eight grandchildren: Nathaniel, Heidi, Jeremiah, Jason, Nicholas, Lindsay, Marion, & Lauren and two great grandchildren: Donovin & Xavier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church, her pastor Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Garden.
