Jack L. Hess age 80 of Massillon passed away Friday evening at his residence with his family at his side. Jack was born February 2, 1931 in Canton to the late Curtis & Irene (Ebey) Hess. He was a 55-year member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a past president of the Holy Name Society. Jack enjoyed his time with the Boy Scouts, was a loyal Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed football, especially following the Tigers. He was a loving husband and father, kind and compassionate to others. Jack worked at Aspro for 26 years and retired from the Timken Co. after 16 years of service. For the last 10 years, Jack worked at the Paquelet Funeral Home. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Annabelle Smith. He is survived by his wife of 57 years LaRue (Carroll) Hess; six children and their spouses; Douglas & Barbara Hess, Miriam & Greg Dingler, Janet Hess & companion Terry Blosser, Janice & Michael Stavroff, Stephen & Rosemarie Hess and Annemarie & Michael Burgardt; thirteen grandchildren; Gary Lambrou, Benjamin (April) Lambrou, Anna (Jonathan) Schroeder, Leanne (Paul) Lively, Jennifer (Richard) Yeager, Kelly Rich, Phillip Hess, Corrin Hess, Tyler Hess, Hayley Crum, Brian Hess, Jacqueline Burgardt, and Alyssa Blosser; three great grandchildren; Garrison Blade and Alexander Lambrou, and Madeline Schroeder. Jack has a brother and two sisters surviving: Donna Roush, Dale Hess and Patricia Reid. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Garden. Friends may call Monday from 5 – 8PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Donations can be sent to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Joseph.
