Jack Gorius

John W. “Jack” Gorius, age 61 of Massillon, died Monday, June 4, 2007 at his home. He was born in Massillon on August 18, 1945 and was the son of the late Clarence W. and Carolyne (Reichel) Gorius. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1963 graduate of Washington High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving during the Viet Nam Conflict. Following a career with the Norfolk & Western Railroad he retired in 1980. Jack was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, the Massillon Lions Club where he was active with the Lincoln Theater. In 1981 he started C.A.A.T.S (Concerned About All Tiger Sports). He is survived by his wife Glenda S. (Wilson) Gorius whom he married on February 18, 1968, his children and their spouses, Dawn (Steve) Slagle, Heather (Scott) Vignos, Amber (Mike) Barlow and Adam Gorius all of Massillon, his grandchildren, Kyle, Morgan, Jack, Nathaniel, Allie and Natalie and his twin sister Jill Gorius and brother Phil Gorius both of Massillon. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Lalama officiating. Burial will follow in Massillon Cemetery. Friends may call at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-9 P.M. and at the church one hour before the service on Friday.
