Jack E. “Bunker” Hill, 90, passed away on April 23, 2021. He was born in Massillon on November 9, 1930 to Ralph and Viola (Getz) Hill. Bunker graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1949, and was the quarterback for the 1948 State Championship Football Team. He went on to play football at University of Cincinnati, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration. Jack was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army and was a National Account Manager for Nalco Chemical Company. He loved Massillon Tiger Football and was a former president of The Tiger Booster Club and served on Massillon City Council. Jack was an avid golfer. He is survived by his children, Julie (David) Davis, Jennifer Hill, Michelle (Robert) Lombardi, Gregory Hill and Brian (Mary) Hill; twelve grandchildren, Justin, Lindsay, Mackenzie, Ryan, Samantha, Bethany, Alyssa, Alexander, Taylor, Katelynn, Aaron and Jack; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Jyl (Mark) Wadding; and three nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his grandson, Collin. Friends and family will gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 1pm-3pm with a Celebration of Bunker’s Life to be held at 3pm. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required.
