Isaac “Blackie” Vasquez, 88, of Massillon passed away Thursday January 14, 2010 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1921 in San Antonio, TX the son of the late Isaac and Elisa (Bursaqua) Vasquez. Blackie was a meat cutter for Superior Brand Meats retiring after 32 years of service. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army serving at Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, and Bastone, Belgium. On July 20, 1946 he married Alice (Charlier), and she preceded him in death October 15, 1994. Blackie is survived by his 2nd wife Linda McRobie; daughter Diana (Aaron) Pachis of Massillon; grandchildren Maria (Joe) Rey, Kimberly Pachis, Kevin (Helen) Pachis, and Brian (Melissa) Pachis; great-grandchildren Isaac, Anthony, Zachary, Kayla, Caden, Braylon, and Jasmine; step-daughter Angela (Mike) France and their children Brandon and Jake; sister-in- law Nellie Kranshan; many nieces and nephews including special nephew Harry (Sue) Morgan. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his son Gary Vasquez. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE. Funeral services will be held Monday at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M with Pastor Michael Bradford officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
