Iris Morris

Iris E. Morris, 84, of Massillon passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009. She was born and grew up in Mannington, WV. the daughter of the late Okey and Hattie (Beatty) Shaw. After graduation she moved to Ohio and worked at Hoovers then Timken Roller Bearing along with her brother Forest and father Okey. She married Dale Morris and moved to Newman. She worked as a cook at Tuslaw High School then retired from Timken Mercy Hospital as a data processor. Iris was a member of Newman Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She loved to read and crochet and was a great cook. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Iris is survived by her children James (Charlotte) Morris of Fredericksburg, VA, Barney (Pauline) Morris of Goshen, KY, Michael (Marcie) Morris of Massillon, and Gail (Don) Grace of Navarre; sister Eunice Safreed of Weirton, WV; niece Patricia Griffith of Germantown, MD; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Forest Shaw. Visitation will be Saturday from 1-3 P.M. at Newman Baptist Church followed by funeral services at 3:00 P.M. at the church. Rev.
