Irene Metzger

Irene (Dominick) Metzger, age 92, of San Antonio, Texas went to be with our Lord Jesus on October 12, 2021. She was born in Massillon, Ohio on March 2, 1929 to the late Emil and Mary Dominick. She resided in Massillon for most of her life and moved to San Antonio in 2016 due to health concerns. She graduated from Washington High School in 1947. She worked for the Timken Roller Bearing Company as an inspector for 25 years and retired in 1994. She was a member of St. Barbara’s Catholic Church, St. Barbara’s Women’s Club and St. Barbara’s Choir. Her favorite pastimes included dancing, opera music, refinishing furniture, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by three daughters. Michele Gardner of New Braunfels, Texas, Julie Heck of Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Denise Gipson of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by her younger brother, Emil Dominick Jr. of Massillon. The lord blessed her with 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Dominick, her father, Emil Dominick and oldest brother, Reinhold Dominick. Friends may call from 12.00pm-1:00pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday , October 25, 2021 .A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 1:30pm in Brookfield Cemetery, Massillon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Barbara’s Catholic Church.
