Irene Katlin Lorius

Irene K. Lorius, 96, went home to be with her Lord on September 06th, 2014 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert O. Lorius after sharing 60 years of marriage together. She is survived by two daughters and one son, Jodine (Tom) Zahler Jane (Vic) Kestel, and Robert (Shelly) Lorius. She is also survived by sisters, Jean (Bill) Howard, and Shirley Cagle, and one brother, John Bartos, and special nephew Richard (Barbara) Lorius. Irene will be greatly missed by her ten grandchildren, Marianne (Bob) Burns, Thomas M. (Martha) Zahler, , Barbara Alenik, Charles (Joanne) Zahler, , Kristine Zahler, Tracy Fry, Christopher Kestel, Stacy (Rick) Griggy, Aaron (Sarah) Kestel and Brian Kestel, and Great Grandchildren, Mackenzie Zahler, Kaitlyn Zahler, Thomas G. Zahler, Cassandra (Steve) Porter, Jamie Burns, Bryan (Renee) Burns, Kennedy Takas, Aaron Griggy, and Zachary Griggy. Irene was also blessed Great Great Grandchildren, Mia Porter, Ava Porter and Braxten Burns. Irene was a homemaker and caregiver throughout her adult life being one who was always ready to babysit a grandchild or great-grandchild with loving care and she deserved their love in return She was also a great cook and was famous for baking the best chocolate chips cookies in the world. Irene was a devoted church member of the Church of the Covenant and Legacy Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in North Canton. Irene Irene's calling hours will be Saturday, September 13th, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Wales Road N.E. in Massillon. The funeral service will be conducted by Dr. Clifford Price at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Association, 1550 Old Henderson Road, Suite N 160, Columbus, OH 43220.
