Iola (Bucher) Hillebrecht, 99, formerly of Massillon, Ohio passed away on September 17, 2021 in Dunedin, Florida. She was born August 22, 1922 at home on the family farm south of Wooster, Ohio to Warren Bucher and Florence (Rowland) Bucher. She graduated from Apple Creek High School and Kent State University with a Bachelor and Master of Education. She was a draftsman at B & W during WWII, taught algebra at Edison Jr High School for 4 years, and was a Guidance Counselor at Jackson High School until retirement. She was a member of Trinity UMC Massillon Ohio from the Mid 1950s until present where she sang tenor in the church choir. She voluntered at Massillon Community Hospital after retirement. After her move to Florida, she attended First UMC Dunedin. She is Survived by her son Gene (Sue) Hillebrecht of Slidell Louisiana; Grandson Chris Hillebrecht of Columbus; Great granddaughter Megan Flick of Kempner TX; Grandaughter Holly (Matt) Hoffmann; Great grandson Carter Hoffmann, Step greatgrand kids Kristina, Peyton and Davis Hoffmann of Slidell, Louisiana. Iola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, and daughter Shirley. Services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church on Monday, October 25, at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Tina Siroki officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. She has been entombed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist church.
