Howard H. Hornbrook, 88, of Navarre passed away Wednesday March 24, 2010 at Brewster Park. He was born November 10, 1921 in Massillon the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Bookhart) Hornbrook. Howard was a carpenter for Republic Steel retiring in 1982. He was a W.W. II veteran of the United States Army serving in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Campaigns, and received 3 Bronze Stars. He was a past scout master for the Navarre Boy Scout Troop # 942, and was serving on the board the past thirty years with Troop # 920. Howard enjoyed antique cars, flying model planes, and always had a building project. Howard was a member of the Navarre V.F.W., and the Brewster Knights of Columbus. He was a past member of St. Clements Catholic Church in Navarre, and most recently St. Therese Catholic Church in Brewster. Howard married Gloria (Meyers) June 5, 1946 and she preceded him in death September 12, 1995. Howard is survived by children James (Barbara) Hornbrook of Jarvisburg, NC, Nancy (Charles) Hawk of Brewster, Tom (Sherri) Hornbrook of Navarre, John Hornbrook of Canton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister Virginia Cochran of Brewster; half-sister Betty Lou (Jack) Holliday of Barberton. Also surviving is his second wife Pearl (Garman) Hornbrook of Lexington, OH. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 26 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Therese Catholic Church in Brewster with Fr. Robert Kaylor officiating. Canton American Legion Post # 44 will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions in Howard’s memory may be given to Brewster Boy Scout Troop # 920 104 E. 7th St., Brewster, OH 44613. Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd.
