Howard Harper

Howard Harper, 95, a lifelong resident of Massillon, passed away on April 13, 2025 at his home. He was born on October 10, 1929 to the late Benjamin and Jean {Pulliam} Harper.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margueritta Harper; brothers, Harold Benjamin and Leroy Harper; sisters, Betty Harper and Beverly Ann Harper.

Howard is survived by his sister Ruby Arrington; nephews Larry, Jay and Deandre; nieces Bernadine, Sherry, Rosalind, Denise, Bonnie and Tracy; a host of extended family members and friends.

Howard had a career that spanned over 40 years with Republic Steel, and was a committed member of St. James AME Zion Church, where most of his family attended.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. James AME Zion Church, 209 2nd St. SW Massillon, OH 44646 on Thursday, April 24th from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral service that begins at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Taylor Sr. officiating, and Jay Harper eulogizing. Interment to follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery, where Howard will be laid to rest with Margueritta.
