Howard E. Gardiner

Howard E. Gardiner, age 82 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio. He was born on November 20, 1927 in Massillon the son of the late Edward and Alice (Gray) Gardiner. Howard lived in the area most of his life. He had worked for Superior Brand Meats. Howard owned H & R Lounge and was an avid bowler and golfer. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, J.C. Jamison, his brothers, Edward Gardiner Jr., James, Leroy and Frank Gardiner and his sister, Ruth Shaffer. He is survived by his wife, Ruth V. (Garret) Gardiner of Brewster, whom he married on July 2, 1955; his brothers, Clifford Gardiner, Charles Gardiner and Harold Gardiner all of Massillon; his step-son, Hollis (Elsie) Jamison of Massillon; his grandchildren, Tammy Bavery of Canton, Tina Jamison and Carl Gatewood both of Massillon; 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Pastor Duane Wilbur will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
