Howard Dale Moyers

Howard Dale Moyers, age 89 of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015. He was born in Beatrice, WV on April 20, 1925 and was the son of the late Otis Glen and Anna Florence (Parks) Moyers. Dale was a decorated World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. While serving overseas with the 305th Bomb Group, he earned the Air Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Ribbon, the American Theater Service Ribbon, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the World War II Victory Ribbon. He also was a member of the 8th Air Force Memorial Association. He retired from Nationwide Insurance where he was the Office Services Manager. He was an active member and former trustee for many years at the Massillon Baptist Temple. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Joan Moyers, his brothers Donald F. Moyers, Coy G. Moyers, Ted G. Moyers and Paul Moyers and his sisters, Virginia Klintworth and Leona Klintworth. He is survived by his son, David (Judi) Moyers, his daughter Pat (Ray) Simonson, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren A service to commemorate the life of Dale Moyers will take place on Monday 1:00 P.M. at the Massillon Baptist Temple with his pastor, Cecil Thayer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. and on Monday at the church one hour before the service. Memorials are suggested to either Massillon Christian School or the Alzheimer's Association.
