Homer Slabaugh, 86, went home to be with the Lord, on November 20, 2011. He was born on January 22, 1925 in Winesburg Paint Twp. to the late Joseph M. Slabaugh and Anna Yoder. He married Bula Deauvol in 1949 and they were together until her passing in 2000. Homer worked for Dallas & Mavis from 1954 to 1984 operating as an independent owner/operator Trucker. Homer liked to spend his time fishing and camping. He regularly attended Amherst Community Church He is survived by his wife Emma(Reardon-Warstler-Kirby) Slabaugh, 3 step-children, Howard (Holly) L. Warstler Jr., Emma (John) J. Smith, and Paul Warstler, 4 Sisters, Ella Dix, Ada Bailey, Elizabeth (James) Tombow, and Dorothy (Jim) Brown, 4 brothers Roman(Irma) Slabaugh, Freeman (Audrey) Slabaugh, Clarence (Joann) Slabaugh, and Harold (Helen) Slabaugh. 5 Grandchildren, 8 Great - Grandchldren, and a host of nieces and newphews. In addition to his parents and his 1st wife, he is preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 sister. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 P.M. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the First Assembly of God in Massillon. Pastor Ken Weaver, Rev. Cal Hamblin, and Rev. Atlee Hershberger officiating. Family will receive friends at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, November 25, 2011 and also 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Mennonite Cemetery.
