Homer C. Pierce, Jr.

Homer C. Pierce Jr., age 66 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Legends Care Center. Homer was born on April 7, 1945 in Wellston, Ohio the son of Homer C. and Dora (Lovette) Pierce. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School and then went on to Findley University graduating with a B.A. degree. Homer was also a U.S. Marine veteran serving 2 terms in Vietnam. He sung in the choir at Anchor Baptist Church and at the Senior Center. Homer was preceded in death by his father and his sister Nina Pierce. He is survived by his mother, Dora Pierce and his sisters, Dora Dawson, Rose Kling and Carol White. A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Thursday at 2:30 P.M. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Rev. Danny Grine, officiating.
