Herman Ray Clay

Herman “ Ray” Clay 87 years of age passed from this life on Friday, November 27, 2020. Those left behind to cherish his loving memory are the love of his life, his wife of 61 years Maxine ( Chandler) Clay, his three blessed daughters; Ronda (David) Fulks of Canal Fulton, Radonna and Amy Clay both of Massillon, four grandchildren; Tanisha (Alex) McInnes, Joshua, Jacob and Jarod Patrick, and two great-grandchildren; Cooper and Chloe McInnes. He also leaves three brothers-in-law; Paul Chandler of Fresno, Ohio, Arthur Brunty of Lundale, W Va, and Carl Truax of Massillon, and four sisters- in- law; Barbara Brunty of Lundale, W Va, Kim Chandler of Fresno, Oh, Hilda Clay of Cuyahoga Falls, Oh and Jane Quillin of Newcomerstown, Oh. Ray was the last of 11 children born to the late Nathan and Laura (Adkins) Clay. He was born on September 23,1933 in Cuzzie. Lincoln County, W Va. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers; Earl, Vernon, Golden, and Homer and 6 sisters; Odis, Olive, Fannie, Gusta, Aleain, and Lorene. Ray retired from Republic Steel with 43 years of dedicated service. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by so many. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and just spending time with his family. He considered his most important jobs in life to be a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and believe all of us he did them very well. Services will be held at Paquelet Funeral home in Massillon, OH. on December 10th with calling hours from 10-12, Funeral at 12 and burial immediately following.
