Herbert L. Snyder

Herbert L. Snyder, 83 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. He was born on September 14, 1925 in Canton the son of the late Charles and Edith Snyder. On March 11, 1948 he married his wife Velda (Burtt) Snyder and they celebrated 61 years together in March. Herb was a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. He was a U.S. veteran and served in Navy during WWII. Herb was a member of the Massillon Moose #481 and a lifetime member of D.A.V. Chapter 38 where he was past commander and secretary. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Alan. He is survived by his wife Velda Snyder; his children and their spouses, Brenda (Carl) Wise of Massillon, Michelle (Michael) Kirsch of Canton and Robert (Robin) Snyder of Massillon; his grandchildren, Andrew (Beth) and Jessica Grant, Eric Snyder, Miranda and Christopher Kirsch and Hannah Snyder; his great-grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Grant and Cloee and Carson Snyder and several step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2PM at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Lalama will officiate.
