Henry Gresham

Henry Josh Gresham, 84, formerly of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights, following an extended illness. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on April 29, 1928, to Leanna and Fleming Gresham. He was an avid golfer who played in numerous professional golf tournaments. Henry retired from Republic Steel after working over 30 years. Henry was also a boxer. He had a pretty good record, which is how he gained the name of Doc Josh. Henry often called himself the Russian while experiencing very, very happy times. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Leanna Fleming Gresham and Anthony Zeigler; special friend, Betty Young; two sons, Keith and Eugene Autrey; two brothers, William and Arthur Gresham and two sisters, Irene Palmer and Ethel Gamble. Henry leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Michael Autrey and Henry (Hank) Gresham Jr. of Massillon; two daughters, Ethel Autrey and Joshlon Gresham of Cleveland; two sisters, Ocelia Zeigler and Ann (Milton) Wright of Cleveland; two brothers, Anthony Zeigler and James (Lois) Gresham; a very special nephew, Willie (Snookie) Gamble of Oakland, California, several grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. The Gresham Family would like to thank everyone for your prayers, your caring and sympathetic words and your kind gifts during this time of sorrow.
