Helen Victoria King Farnham of Massillon, Ohio, passed away peacefully December 14, 2021. Born in 1922 to Grant and Lena [Clow] King in Joliet, Illinois, Helen grew up on a farm and attended Plainfield schools. Helen married Robert E. Farnham June 27, 1944, soon after their graduation from North Central College, Naperville, Illinois. As a young adult, Helen assisted in the North Central College library and Naperville Nichols Library. She was very involved in church activities as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, pianist, and librarian, and briefly taught Good News Club. Her public teaching career included instruction in the elementary classroom and later as a reading specialist. Lifelong loves of Helen included education, music (especially piano instruction), books, and learning and study. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by three brothers, her husband in 2004, and one son-in-law. Survivors are daughters Elizabeth [Walter] Keller; Nancy [Frank] Pawlowski; Helen R. Farnham; Karin Powell; and Marjorie [William] Berens; twenty-three grandchildren: Andrew, Victoria, Abigail, Margaret, David, Daniel, Charles, Kristin, David, Carolyn, Allison, James, Linnea, Sarah, Timothy, Josiah, Faith, Hannah, Rose, Nathaniel, Daniel, Anna, and Andrew; forty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services for Helen will be Wednesday, December 29 at Grace Bible Church, 1700 Hankins Rd. NE, Massillon, Ohio. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., and the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Helen will be interred at Wheatland Township Cemetery, Naperville, Illinois. A memorial service will be held in Illinois at a time to be later announced. Memorial contributions may be directed to Northern Grace Youth Camp, Gillett, Wisconsin. Helen and Robert were passionate about evangelism, domestic and foreign missions, and church camp, giving support through finances, prayer and encouragement. Helen trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior, knowing that she was not worthy of heaven on her own, but that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross and the power of His bodily resurrection gave her the righteousness she needed to give her a “citizenship in heaven” (Philippians 3:20). Helen is now enjoying in full the sure hope, the confident expectation of eternal life in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
