Helen Marie Moore

Helen Marie Moore, 80, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Inn at University Village in Massillon. She was born July 16, 1936 in Barberton, Ohio to Paul and Magdalene Helen (Schleis) Sigmund. Helen was a 1954 graduate of Canton South High School. Upon finishing high school, she worked at The Timken Co. where she played on their softball team for 2 years. Helen then worked at Ohio Power where she retired after 27 years of service. She married Ronald E. Moore on January 7, 1958 and they shared 59 loving years together. Helen was a member of the Tri-County Veterans Association. She was an avid reader, gardener and baker. Helen also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing, and quilting. Helen enjoyed traveling with her husband Ron across the country to visit their children. Her greatest attribute to her family was being very supportive and influential in their education. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Ronald; children Wesley (Denise) Moore, Cheri Moore and Donald Moore; 1 grandchild; brothers Paul and David Sigmund; sister Barbara (Ed) Costello. Helen was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Ann Bytheway, Terri C. Huckels and sister-in-law Margie Sigmund. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 10-12 pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will be at noon with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be private.
