Helen J. Frailly

March 29, 1926 — April 19, 2013

Helen J. (Sylvester) Frailly, age 87 of Massillon, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Amherst Meadows with her family at her side. She was born on March 29, 1926 in Wellsville, Ohio to the late Marino and Mary (Rivelle) Sylvester. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Frailly, her sisters, Marian and Eleanor and her brother Anthony. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Cheryl Frailly, her grandsons, Ron, Tim and Chris and her great grandchildren, Daniel and Caylynn. Also surviving are her brothers, Joe, Rocco and David and her sister Rose. Helen was a very loving family member, caring wife, mother and "nanny" to her three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and friend to many until her last breath. She loved her lord, church and everyone around her. Her love for her daughter-in-law Cheryl was special. Cheryl thought the world of her also and took care of her right up to her last breath. She always asked how everyone was doing, "What's new?" she would ask and had numerous other little concerns to share on a daily basis! She would reminisce often about her deceased family members, especially her mother and father. Helen was very proud of her Italian heritage and Sylvester family name. Her main goal in life was to serve and help others when she could. Family was everything to her. She loved and took care of her husband "Danny" right up to his last breath. A homebody for sure, Helen enjoyed the simple things in life. Not one to stray to far from home, she made a very good home life, cooked daily, cleaned everything in sight and worked outside the home for short periods at Eaton and Ecko in Massillon. She enjoyed her time many years ago serving in the St. Joseph school cafeteria as she loved being around little children. Her main mission in life was giving to others, caring about and helping those in need. Every time you went to see her, she was always trying to give you something, especially ice cream! Helen loved to walk, especially with her grandchildren when they were young and would take many walks with her husband. Those walks lasted with "Danny" until they could not walk together any longer. Helen, along with her three sisters, were the "dessert bakers" for her extended Sylvester family. Specialty pies, cakes with secret icing, cream puffs and more were supplied for many years for any family occasion. It was always interesting watching her brother-in-laws going after her specialty pies, seeing who would get that last piece. Helen, along with her smile, caring, loving and giving will be missed dearly. We are sure husband Danny and our numerous deceased Sylvester and extended family members were at heavens gates when she arrived on Friday morning, April 19, 2013, and some probably looking for a special dessert! We would like to thank our family and friends for their love and support. We would also like to thank the entire staff at Amherst Meadows for the compassionate care that they gave to mom. You are in our hearts forever. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church (due to renovations at St. Joseph's Catholic Church) on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Raymond L. Paul officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 P.M. and on Tuesday at the funeral home one hour before the Mass. Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory 330-833-3222
