Heinz Celik

Heinz Celik Sr., age 95 of Massillon. Sadly we announce he passed away on September 16, 2022 with his loving family present. He was born to Heinrich and Anna Celik in Gelsenkirchen-Erle, Germany on November 1, 1926. He and his wife, Gerda, married in August 1950 and immigrated to Massillon in 1952, where they raised their family. Heinz was employed at Republic Steel and retired from LTV Steel. He enjoyed listening to Polka music and watching sports particularly international soccer. He was grateful to have had the opportunity to travel to many beautiful places in Europe and the United States. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Massillon.

Heinz loved and cherished his family. He is survived by wife, Gerda, son, Heinz Jr., and daughter Linda, of Massillon; grandsons and their spouses: Daniel (Emily Godlewski) Celik of Ohio, Thomas (Kristina) Celik of Arizona; three precious great-grandchildren, Sadie, Daniel, and Carter, as well as other beloved relatives.

The family rejoices in knowing that Heinz is at peace and has reunited with God and his parents in heaven. The family extends a thank you to Altercare Country Lawn in Navarre for their care of Heinz in his final days. Private services were held.
