Hazel Rigsby

Hazel J. Rigsby age 92 of Wooster, passed away Monday afternoon at Akron City Hospital. She was born on October 19, 1916 in Isonville, Kentucky to Jessy and Amy (Lester) Mason and was a life long resident of Wooster. Hazel retired in 1972 from Bauer Ladder following more than 20 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening and knitting. Hazel was a past member of the Wooster Baptist Temple. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Velma D. Welch; great granddaughter, Susan Amstutz; brothers, Kansas and Woodrow Mason; sisters, Ivie Kelly, Lily Ridgeway and May Dammer. She is survived by her daughters, Wilma Fahrney and Vella Ogg both of Wooster; brothers, Stonewall Mason of Ashland, Kentucky, Loyd Mason of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Boyd Mason of Kentucky; sister, Wanda Mason of Kentucky; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Funeral services celebrating Hazel’s life will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Faith Community Fellowship with Dr. David R. Kimberly officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church. Interment will follow the services at Brookfield Cemetery.
