Harry R. Hickman

Harry Hickman, age 81 of Massillon, passed away Sunday at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 1, 1930 in Coal Ridge, OH to the late Harry & Maggie (Way) Hickman and lived in Massillon since 1964. He served as a paratrooper in the Army and received an honorable discharge. In 1989 Harry retired from Republic Steel. He will be remembered as a devoted Steelers fan and loved spending time playing softball and golf. He is a member of the American Legion and the Army Navy Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Hickman in 2000 and a brother Donald E. Hickman. Harry is survived by five children and their spouses; Cheryl (Jim) Pruitt, Tanyia Hickman, Jack (Kay) Hickman, Donald (Cindy) Hickman and Johnny (Amy) Hickman all of Massillon; seventeen grandchildren, Tiffany (Steve) Brown, Amy (Ray) Borell, Jackie (Dustin) Wilbur, Crystal (Mike) Hickman, Heather Rayburn, Geri (Adam) Rayburn, Donni Ray Pruitt (Robert), Donny (Katie) Hickman, Johnny (Crystal) Hickman, Ttavis Pruitt, Chelsea Pruitt, Jordan Hefner, Hailey Smiddy, Brandon Hickman, Shania Hickman, Cory Zimmerman, Joshua Zimmerman; seventeen great grandchildren, Byron Brown, Brenden Brown, Lauren Brown, Erica Borell, Ethan Borell, Vincent Murray, Avionna Wilbur, Easton Wilbur, Madison Hickman, Desiree Rutan, Christian Williams, Blake Seifert, Andrew Seifert, Cohen Hickman, Callianne Hickman, Jay Lynn Zimmer, Jasmine Zimmer. He will be missed by his loving sister, Helen Moore, and her children; Alan (Mary Ann) Moore and Gloria (David) Friend. Funeral service will be 1 PM Friday at the Paquelet Funeral Home; Rev. Dr. Bob Buckley will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 PM and one hour (Friday) prior to the service at the funeral home.
