Harold F. Stoner

April 15, 1921 — September 12, 2014

Harold F. Stoner, 93 of Navarre, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Navarre, Ohio on April 15, 1921 and was the son of Stephen and Clara (Oakleaf) Stoner. His brother Floyd and great granddaughter Abigail Lang preceded him in death. Following high school, Harold served his country during WWII as a tech Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corps 63rd ADRM Squadron 7AAF. He went on to work for Massillon Container Corporation, retiring as their general foreman. Harold was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Navarre Post of the V.F.W., Post 5047. He married his wife, the former Hilda (Deal) on February 16, 1946. Together, they would raise 11 children. She survives along with children, Warren (Darlene) Stoner, Ann (John) Lang, Phred Stoner, Marie Kramer, Grace Wackerly, Gloria Livengood, Mark (Maggie) Stoner, Martha (Roger) Zimmerman, Teresa Hamlin & (James Herman), Celia (Tim) Durant and Anita (Roger) Piper. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Seifert officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.
