Harold E. Burtt, age 90, of Massillon passed away on June 14, 2019. He was born in Massillon on May 06, 1929 to the late Oscar and Katherine Burtt. Harold was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School. He married Helen Burtt on September 21, 1966 and they shared over 48 years together until her passing in 2015. Harold served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a Boiler Room Supervisor for Cleaner Hangers until his retirement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #190 in Massillon. Harold enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and mind-bending puzzles. He will forever be remembered as a loving, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his children Jim (Kathy) Myers, Deborah (Kevin) Taylor, and Patricia Elward; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers; his sisters Linda(Paulie) Schuck and Velda Snyder and his brothers Gerald(Linda) Burtt and Oscar Burtt Jr.; his faithful canine companion Buffy as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by his son-in-law Kevin Elward. A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 11a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 6-8p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Massillon Cemetery.
