Harold D. Shimp

Harold D. Shimp. Age 79, of Massillon, died on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the home of Elizabeth Shimp, his granddaughter. He was born on September 30, 1931 in Marietta, OH and was the son of the late Clarence and Flossie (Leisure) Shimp. Harold was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in both the Army and the Navy. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox where he was a welder. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Shimp, son Rodney Shimp his great granddaughter Kristin Toney, his sister Mary Augenstein and his brother Kenny Shimp. He is survived by his daughters, Vickie (Frank) Glidden, Patty (Darrell) Vanest and Nancy (Cory) Aguon, 11 grandchildren, two who he raised like they were his own children, Elizabeth Shimp and Rodney “Bud” Shimp, 14 great grandchildren and his sister Thelma Davis of Texas. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
