H. Kenneth Van Brunt

H. Kenneth Van Brunt, age 95, died on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Canton Regency. He was born on December 14, 1913 in New York City, NY and was an east coast resident for most of his life until coming to Massillon, Ohio in May of 2008 to be closer to several members of his family. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Rutgers University and was a credit manager for National Steel Corporation working in Lyndhurst, NJ. He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Van Brunt and his son Douglas Van Brunt. He is survived by his daughter, Madeline Starr of Las Vegas, NV, his son and daughter in law, Lt. Colonels Fred & Barbara Van Brunt of Massillon and son Kenneth Van Brunt of Columbus, OH, 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Captains Kevin Zanders and Tawny Cowen-Zanders officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon. Friends may call at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road N.E., Massillon, Ohio on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. and on Thursday one hour before the service. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at The Salvation Army, 28 Beech Street, Kearny, NJ at 2:30 P.M. with Majors Sidney and Betty Anderson officiating. Members of The Salvation Army New York Staff Band will participate at the service. Memorial contributions may be given to your local Salvation Army.
