Guida "Dee" Griffin

Guida "Dee" Griffin, 89, of Canton, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her bedside on January 13, 2023.

She was born on June 3, 1933 to the late Clifford and Etta (Lineberry) Newman in Woodlawn, VA.

She attended Anchor Baptist Church. Dee loved fishing with her sons, working in her yard and going out for breakfast. She always kept an immaculate home.

Dee is survived by her loving children, Carl (Susie) Griffin, Paul W. Griffin, Robert (Michele), David "Dale" (Barb) Griffin and Joe (Maria) Griffin; grandchildren, Katrina, Tia, Matthew, Christopher, Robby, Tyler, Taryn, Chad, Alena and Raelyn; sixteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Juanita Burnett, Alpha Jean Newman, Annadean (Bobby) Loville, Wallace (Geraldean) Newman, Joe (Audrey) Newman and Wayne Newman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Harb" Griffin; and siblings, Delsie Farmer, Ethelene Bryant, Arlie Newman, Almeta Frazier, Rosella Lundy and Archie Ray Newman.

Visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, 11:00 am at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon with Dr. Mark Jacobs, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
