Gregory “Sully” Sullivan, aka Lonnie, age 55 of Massillon, died unexpectedly on May 27, 2010 at Affinity Medical Center with his loving family at his side. He was born on July 14, 1954 in Massillon, Ohio to Robbie Mae and the late Bernard Sullivan, Sr. Lonnie was employed for more than 25 years at Labors Local 1015. While attending Washington High School, he was a bad*** member of the Massillon Tiger football team. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces for 2 years. What Lonnie enjoyed most of all was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He spent his free time at auctions, buying and selling furniture and hanging out with good friends. Anyone who knew him, knew that Lonnie was independent, confident and self assured. His famous quote was, “I’m broke”, but with a one of a kind smile, he would proudly tell anybody, “don’t nobody take care of me but me.” He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Sullivan, Sr. and his baby brother Timothy Sullivan. He is survived by his mother, Robbie Mae Sullivan, his three sons, Gregory (Jennifer) McHenry of Massillon, Steve “Rollo” Sullivan of Massillon and Kevin Sullivan of Greenville, SC, his two daughters, Shannon Sullivan of Gastonia, NC and Tyra Sullivan of Canton and 8 adoring grandchildren. In addition his 2 brothers, Bernard Sullivan, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Big Steve Sullivan of Massillon and his 2 sisters, Mae Chapman of Detroit, MI and Debbie Wheeler of Gastonia, NC. Lonnie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, “cousins” and an array of extended family and loving friends. Lonnie was loved and will be greatly missed, that’s for sure. Heaven has welcomed another angel. A service to celebrate Lonnie’s life will take place on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10:00 A.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Dr. Bernard Sullivan, Jr. and Anarah Henderson officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. Paquelet – A Golden Rule Funeral Home 330-833-3222
