Gregory P. Jackson, age 74 of Perry Township, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born November 13, 1948, in Akron, Ohio to the late George and Ruth (Daugherty) Jackson.
Greg proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School and continued his education at Walsh University and received his master’s degree from Loyola University.
Greg was extremely devoted to his church. He worked at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton as the Director of Religious Education, teaching sacramental preparations. His greatest passions were his involvements with youth ministries, Worldwide Marriage Encounter and Retrouvaille.
In addition to being devoted to his church, Greg was also dedicated to his family; he was not only a beloved husband and dad, but one of his greatest titles, next to “The King of Dad Jokes”, was being a Papa.
In his younger years, Greg loved coaching Perry girls’ softball and loved visiting the beach where he made endless memories with his family. He was also an avid fan of Ohio sports team, always ready to cheer them on despite constant disappointment.
