Gregory E. Sterling, age 55 of Perry Township, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 1, 2012 at his home he built 30 years ago. Greg was born on May 22, 1956 in Canton the son of the late Don and Grace (McConnell) Sterling. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1974 graduate of Glenwood High School. Greg worked with his family owned company, Beaver Excavating created by his father Don. He enjoyed riding his 1989 Heritage Harley and was loved by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children Dusty (Ivy) Sterling, Jason Sterling and Angela Sterling; his grandchildren, Jayden, Kian, Athan, Stella and Zane; his brothers, Mark (Gail) Sterling, and Jeff (Colleen) Sterling; his sister, Jill Sterling; his step-mother Mary Lou Sterling; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. N.E., Massillon, OH 44646. Dr. Bryan George will be officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
